Admit One!

It’s Jill here today to share an invitation for the circus that I made with The Big Top Collection.  This invitation will bring a smile to any childs (or adults!) face.

Invitation: closed view

Invitation: open view

Supplies used:

The Big Top Collection: Balancing Act, Side Show, Clowning Around, Big Top Mini Mes, Big Top Snippets & Clippets, Step Right Up
Other: Bazzill Basics black and kraft cardstock, Maya Road thread spools, Vibrance ink, Modern Romance push pin, Thickers, baker’s twine

How to make this invitation:

The tent top was cut out of the Step Right Up pattern paper and it dictated the size of the invitation.  To further accentuate the tent top, I adhered a banner strip of pennants to the bottom of the tent top that was cut out from the Big Top Snippets & Clippets piece of pattern paper.  I cut out a single flag from the  Side Show pattern paper and adhered it to a push pin.

The base of the bottom part of the card was made with a piece of kraft paper.  It was 12 inches wide and I folded it in three.  I adhered and inked various pieces of pattern paper from The Big Top Collection to each side of the kraft paper.  I then added embellishments to complete the invitation.

In The Big Top collection, the Balancing Act sheet of pattern paper is perfect for cutting out embellishments to use on your project.  Here, I was able to cut out the elephant, lion, and seal to illustrate a circus line-up.  The animals were inked, adhered to black cardstock and then pop-dotted to help them pop off he project a bit more.  I then used some black cardstock to mimic a stage and cut tickets out from the Clowning Around pattern paper.  On the sides, I added a circle and star combination for some added interest.

I dressed up the front of the invitation using some Thickers and strips of pattern paper from the Clowning Around, Balancing Act and the Step Right Up papers.  As a final touch, I used the thread spools and baker’s twine to close the invitation.

We’d love to see your invitation creations!  Leave us a note about what you’ve created lately!

Have a great Sunday!

Jill
