Can a girl have too many shoes?

Hey there bloggers! Rita Barakat here!
Today I have a fun little project with the
Goody Two Shoes Collection from Ta Da Creative Studios!
I got this fun wooden little shadow box form a 99cent store and
had a really fun time with this project.
It just so happens that Love My tapes has a polka dot fabric tape “Chloe”
that goes perfectly with this collection!
(Accessories provided by my baby girl!)
Maybe it’s time you tried something “out of the box”!

Sending Love

I hope everyone had a nice long Memorial Day weekend in the U.S. but most importantly, many thanks to the men and women in our military for their service and sacrifice.

TaDa Creative Studios offer so many different designs. Today, I’d like to share Whirly Gig collection (flip side of Moscow Paper) I found the other day and wanted to make a double fold card. My Spellbinders™ M-Bossabilities™ Regal folder and Labels Twenty-Four have a similar shape to this collection.

I loved the color combination of Moscow paper and use the green to create the card base. Take a 8½ x 4¼” piece of cardstock and score it at 5½”. Cut two pieces of patterned paper in 5¼ x 4″ and 2¾ x 4″.

Take an 8 x 3″ piece of cardstock and score at 4″. I cut a piece of 3¾ x 2¾” patterned paper. With my Spellbinders Grand Calibur® Die Cutting and Embossing Machine, emboss 3⅜ x 2¾” piece of cardstock.

The following pictures are steps to assemble the card…

I embellished the front with Picot Edge Circles layered with a pattern from Whirly Gig Pocket Notes paper that I cut/embossed with Standard Circles LG and adhered with foam tape. The last touch was to put the blue bling in the middle.

Here’s a second look at the finished card. I used the Labels Twenty-Four die template to emboss its shape on the 3¾ x 2¾” white cardstock before stamping the sentiment inside…another one of my favorite techniques! Try this type of card when you want to create something different!

Testimony to the versatility of TaDa products, I combined an outdoorsy themed collection with a winter collection and the sports collection! You wouldn’t know it looking at the layout however!

  • Jock Jams, Jock Stripes, backside

Lost Tooth and the BFF collection

I just love TaDa’s BFF collection.  It isn’t just for best friends either.  I used it for this picture of my daughter with her missing tooth.  I matted the photo onto white cardstock so it would look like a Polaroid.  I created a little flag and added a small tooth die-cut from my Silhouette.  I love that TaDa’s collections come with journaling spots and that everything goes together so easily.

Pool Rat

Sorry for my delay – this time of year life got the best of me and I forgot to press post!

It is no secret that when TaDa came out with the pool collection I was ecstatic.  I have created layouts for each of my swimmers except Jack.  He was quick to point this out.  So here is my layout honoring him.

When he is in the pool, we know it is him because of his orange goggles!  When he wears another color – only bad things happen like water gets in them or they fall off.

In this lay out:

  • I used the KERPLUNK LASER CUT as the back ground with the CANNONBALL paper behind it.
  • As splash accents and other accents I used SNACK SHACK, SNIPPETS & CLIPPETS, and BALL OF FUN
  • I went through my stash and used white rick-rack, bling, and some baker’s twine as accents
  • Lastly I placed some cool stickies in just the right places!

Enjoy creating with this awesome collection,

Marianne

Shadowbox Project

For this project I wanted to make a shadowbox of random pictures of my youngest. The Just Chillin collection was the perfect choice for this project. I started by getting the shadowbox out of the closet and then started to rough up the frame to go with the grungy feel of the just chillin collection.

I had so much fun adding all the little bits and pieces, stringing all the flags, pictures, title block on the baker’s twine. So Stoked was the paper used for the background. I cut all the flags myself and used pinking scissors to make a couple of the flags. The tickets and title block were created from Spellbinder’s dies. The title is from the Snippets & Clippets paper, just cut to fit into the space I wanted. Using the Unlimited TXT paper I created a brad. This project was perfect for using pieces from every paper in the Just Chillin collection. I also included the smiley sticker from the Stickies sheet too.

Mother’s Day Tag

Mother’s Day is just hours away. Need a quick and easy way to label your Mother’s Day gift? This tag fits both requirements. All the papers for this tag are from the BFF collection. It can be folded flat like an ordinary tag.

Or it can be folded up to give it some 3D dimension.

The second version has a “look at me; look at me” quality that’s bound to make Mom feel right at home. Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Mother’s Day!

The Circus is Coming!!

I recently found these darling tin banks that are mini old time circus wagons complete with moving wheels and that meant I just had to turn it into a mini album! The side of the tin comes off and reveals the mini inside that is attached to the back wall of the tin. I was thrilled to be able to work with the Big Top collection again. For this project I used the Mini Mes.Since the inside mini pulls out it gives me plenty of panels for pictures and pockets. Both on the front and on the back side of the pull out there are many pockets that needed tags. Lucky for me TaDa Creative Studios has given us Snippets and Clippets!I even found the “Admit One” coaster at a local craft store and since it fit the theme it was the perfect addition for a tag.I love that this paper allows us to use parts and pieces to create great results! Here are a couple more of the individual panels. For the back panel that is attached to the back of the tin I used the Step Right Up Mini Me and fussy cut the clouds. Because the sides of the tin are textured, I used lots of foam tape to attach the pull out to the tin so that the texture wouldn’t show through. On both ends of this tin there are clear windows to watch your savings grow but to me that was the ideal spot to add two pockets that would allow a photo or tag to just slip right into place.Supplies used in this mini were the Big Top Collection Mini Mes by TaDa Creative Studios, plain card stock by Bazzil, Candy Dots and tickets by Tim Holtz. I hope that you enjoyed this mini album and that it will inspire you to create a special mini to hold all of your precious memories. Until next time…

Happy Scrappin’!

Splish splash!

I am absolutely LOVING the new Poolside collection to help me catch up on last year’s pictures of our summer fun… before this year’s summer fun starts up! :) I used the collection to help me do a layout of the first time my son got in the pool that year and was old enough to scoot around in there last year.  To create a little “splash effect”, I splattered the cardstock with ink by flicking it with my finger, before layering the page with papers and embellishments.

Hope this post has you now thinking happy thoughts about summer memories ahead to make! :)

Supplies used:  cardstock – Bazzill; paper – TaDa Creative Studios; letter stickers – American Crafts; ink – Shimmerz; brads – Making Memories
